It’s not that difficult to stay busy if you want to be. Every task list is full of things that need to be done, can be done, should be done, was done (and then crossed off the list) – pretty much anything you can imagine can be added to your task list.
People love to cross things off lists.
But busy activity is not the same as effective activity.
The adage that “if you want something done, give it to a busy person” should be amended to say, “if you want something done, give it to someone that gets things done.”
The love of crossing things off your list shouldn’t get in the way of getting the things done that move you forward – and by you I mean your ideas, your goals, your dreams, your business – your next steps, whatever they may be.
Without a doubt, there will always be more things to do, but are they important? Are the relevant? Are the meaningful?
Don’t be busy, be effective.
